Reese do!

Reese is still young enough to want to be like her big sister in every way possible.  She insists on wearing Anya's boots, lying in her bed when she isn't here, and trying everything Anya does.  We often hear her exclaim, "Reese do!" because Reese would, of course, like to do it too.

Today, Reese was the one in the OR at Children's Hospital, doing what Anya has done eleven times now.  The difference is that Reese's exam under anesthesia was just a check, and produced clear results.  She was under for such a short amount of time that no IV was needed.  This means she woke up quickly and pretty unhappy, but the nurses let us all leave in record time, and Reese was much happier in the car with some snacks.

These are some post-EUA pictures.  Her eyes are puffy and pupils dilated.  Having blue eyes, means that our girls' eyes dilate fast and stay that way for awhile.  Typically, their eyes remain dilated and sensitive to light for twenty-four hours.  The puffiness comes from having her eyes forced open.  Eyelid spreaders are used, and although I have never seen them in use, I think they resemble some sort of torture device.

Reese was happy to eat and sleep the rest of the day away.  Our ophthalmologist wants to continue to check her every six months, but we all agree that in another six months time she may be able to do it in office without anesthesia.
