We think Anya is pretty smart, and we don't hesitate to tell her that.  Recently, her response has been, "That is because I have fifty-five brains."

I am guessing that there is not a parent out there that would believe their child if told that, yet the majority of parents don't have actual proof.  We do.  We have pictures of Anya's brain from May and November of 2010, and both of them show a single, beautiful, tumor-free brain.  On Monday, Anya will have her third MRI, the main purpose of which is to check for any tumors on the pineal gland, also known as the "third eye."  Retinoblastoma can spread to the brain, although with the use of the current cocktail of chemotherapy, what is occasionally called trilateral Retinoblastoma is virtually unheard of.  We are hopeful that MRI number three will produce the same results as the previous two.
