Trip plans

Plans for Philadelphia are falling into place.  I called the doctor's office yesterday and made an appointment for April 26 at 8:00 am.  April 26th is a Tuesday which is follow-up day at this office.  I was told that the wait on follow-up day is not as long as new patient day, which was when we were there last.  We waited seven hours before, and I was told our wait should only be two to four hours this time.  Only.  The doctor will take a look at Anya's eyes and determine whether she needs to do an exam under anesthesia.  If an EUA is necessary, that will happen the following day.

On a positive note, we are able to sandwich the visit to the doctor between visits to my two grandmothers, one in New Jersey and the other in Pittsburgh.  Anya and Reese are fortunate to have four living great-grandparents.  This will be Reese's first time meeting my Grandma McCarren, which will be especially poignant, as Reese's middle name - Julia - is after her.  We will be gone a total of eight days, with hopefully only two of them centering around medical needs.
