After MRI

The MRI machine did not beat her up, she did that to herself the previous day with a flying leap off a porch.  Luckily it was her chin that met the concrete and not her eyes.  Once again, thank goodness for protective glasses.

This was Anya's fourth MRI, and it yielded the same results as the others - no tumors in the brain.  In fact, it likely didn't show any tumors at all, as the tumor in her right eye is now gone from her body, and the tumor in her left eye is so small it has never appeared on the MRI.

Before the MRI, Anya saw the surgeon and we talked about her eye not opening.  We have seen some motion in her eyelid in the past week, and that is encouraging to all.  Since we first noticed the fluttering of eyelashes a week ago, the movement has increased.  The surgeon does not know what is going on, but his best guess is that the nerve was stretched during surgery.  The hope is that time will be the best medicine and that there will continue to be more movement with each passing day.  He also said that Anya's eye has healed well and we should start the process to get her prosthesis.  Anya was quite excited about that and wanted to go immediately.  I will be putting a call in tomorrow, and we will start a new part of this journey.
