Have we gone crazy?

We are getting a dog.  When things are already crazy, why not add more craziness to it, right?

In truth, that wasn't the reasoning behind this decision, but I have taken it on full force.  I don't know exactly how our lives will change with this new addition, but change is a constant right now, and this happens to be change we are choosing, so it feels good.  The dog is thanks to the Stink Bug project, http://www.stinkbugproject.org/
It was started by a girl who had cancer.  After her chemo treatments were over, her family got a dog.  The dog brought her joy and loved her unconditionally as any good dog should, and that is when she thought, "this would have been nice to have while I was going through all of that."  (Or something along those lines).

We picked up a brochure at the hospital during Anya's first chemo treatment.  We debated it for awhile and finally decided to go for it.  That was before all the chaos of the last month.  As fate would have it, we found out that our application was accepted just minutes after we found out that Anya had to have her left eye operated on in addition to her right eye.  We were sitting in the waiting room of the OR at Children's.

So, why not?  Anya is very excited about it.  She deserves something to be excited about.  On Thursday, we should have just a little more craziness around here.
