Monocular vision
The other piece of encouraging news we received last Friday was from Anya's first appointment of the day. The optometrist did a series of tests to look at Anya's peripheral vision, distance and close vision, ability to see contrast, and more. In the end she determined that Anya sees perfectly through her one eye. If all continues to go well with her left eye - which is still a rather large "if" at this point - but if it does, then she should have no problems later in life. We had been concerned about fatigue with using only one eye, especially as she gets in to high school and college. The optometrist informed us that there are people that have vision in both eyes, but have other vision problems that would suffer more from fatigue than Anya will.
