Cousin time

Anya and Reese have had so much fun with their cousins this week. Highlights of this week of never-ending fun are: swimming, Butterfly Pavilion, dinners - and more importantly desserts - at Nana and Papa's house, and last night Anya was able to have a sleep-over at her grandparents with all her cousins. Does life get any better?

Well, yes, it actually would be a lot better if she could spend the last day of their visit with them, but instead we will be taking her to the hospital for day one of round four of chemo. Tonight, while eating dessert, Anya's cousins were asking about her medicine. I was quite impressed to hear Anya describe how she gets her medicine. She started with, "see where they cut me open," while showing the scar from when her port was implanted. She went on to very accurately describe how the chemotherapy goes into her body. It was refreshing to hear this conversation between kids, as it was entirely matter of fact.

People have often asked me if Anya understands what is going on. Tonight I have confirmation of what I suspected - she understands all of it.
