Last one for the year

We'll be sneaking in one last doctor appointment of the year tomorrow.  A trip to the retina specialist for both Anya and Reese.  Both with have dilating drops, which is typically the hardest part.  Then, the doctor will examine each of their eyes with a bright light and super strong hand lens.  If we are lucky, there won't be any residents around tomorrow and each girl will only have to endure this momentary torture once.  If we aren't so lucky, most likely Anya will have to be put to the test a couple times as they know she is patient and mature enough to do it.  Being only three, everyone will be happy if Reese  is able to do it one time and they will wait for the doctor for that.

It is a little over six months since Anya has had a check-up with this doctor.  He is checking to see that the tumor in her left eye is stable, and there are no visible signs of tumor growth in that eye.  We'll be holding our breath a bit tonight.  For Reese, it has been more than a year since she was last checked.  As always, we can feel pretty good that she is cancer free due to the genetic tests that came back negative.  These in office exams are added assurance.  She is just a few months away from the age that Anya was when diagnosed, so we'd like her to have another check.  Depending on what the doctor says tomorrow, it is possible it will be her last one.
